Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, and battled in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion of cooking and food at a young age. After obtaining an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. I couldn't seem to get enough out of it. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian food and culture while in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. She also is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetics. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role in the capacity of mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share what I love most to others.
